Richard Lindner (1901–1978) was a German-American painter who was born in Germany to an American mother. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and moved to the United States in 1941, beginning his art career at the age of 40 in New York as an illustrator. He received many accolades for his unique artistic vision.
