Raoul Dufy (1877 -1953) was a French Fauvist painter, draftsman, printmaker, book illustrator, and Scenic designer. He attended classes in art at Le Havre?s ?cole d?Art and ?cole nationale sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts. He developed a colorful, decorative style that became fashionable for ceramics and textile designs. He is noted for scenes of open-air social events.
