Joan Miro (1893-1983) was born in Barcelona, Spain. An artist & writer, he moved to Paris in 1920 and had his first solo exhibition in Paris in 1925, and in 1930 in the USA. He worked on tapestries, ceramic, sculptures and bright abstract paintings. He is recognized as a pioneer of Modernism. His artwork sold for 18 million US Dollars in 2008. Miro’s works can be found in many museums and permanent collections across the world.
