Toulouse Lautrec


Lautrec, Henri de Toulouse (1864 -1901) French artist born in Albi of an aristocratic family. He began his art studies in Paris where he lived in Montmartre, famous for its bohemian lifestyle, artists, and writers. He was fascinated with the Parisian nightlife, subject of much of his works. He is widely known for his posters for the Moulin Rouge and other Parisian nightclubs. . Toulouse-Lautrec is among the best-known painters of the  Post-Impressionist period, with Cézanne, Van Gogh and Gauguin.
