John Miller Bear (1886-1970) American nonpartisan league cartoonist and congressman.
Baer worked as a cartoonist and furnished cartoons and articles to newspapers. Baer was elected as a member of the Nonpartisan League to the Sixty-fifth Congress by special election, and reelected to the succeeding Congress (August 10, 1917 – March 3, 1921). He served as chairman of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of Agriculture (Sixty-sixth Congress). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Sixty-seventh Congress in 1920. He resumed activities as a cartoonist and journalist for Labor, the newspaper of the National Railroad Union.
